Is This the Revolution You Want?
The World is About to Change Forever…
Esther & God's Command to Remember
Are You Recession Proof Or Are You Ready to Lose Everything?
What does our future hold? We really have few clues as to what our eternity will be like. But here, as Paul talks about settling disputes among believers, he drops a clue. We will judge angels.
We must be careful not to make too big of a deal out of this. Paul was not directly addressing the judging of angels here.
This was a comment made in passing as he dealt with a more immediate and serious matter in the Corinthian church.
They were not getting along. It was so bad that some of them were taking others to court. And Paul was greatly disturbed that they were going to unbelievers for judgment.
Was there not any among them competent to serve as judges?
After all, Paul told them, we are going to judge the world as well as angels. Surely we should be able to handle matters among ourselves.
It is unclear what angels we will judge or what that judgment will entail. However, those angels who have fallen and are kept in chains are likely candidates (Jude 1:6).
But the idea that we, who were initially made a little lower than the angels (Ps. 8:5), may one day be elevated above them is an intriguing glimpse into our future.
